We spend the early days into January walking through our lives room by room, opening the curtains on what yesterday was and setting fire drill of resolutions for the rest of the year. At this time of the year, it’s so easy to look at others and believe that they are doing better than you are, or could be doing something you are not, and that could be true to some extent, but letting those thoughts be a controlling force is what is destructive. I personally have those enviable thoughts from time to time but what keeps me grounded is being mindful that everyone has their path to walk, and in as much as I continue striving for all I want, there’d always be a feeling of fulfilment.

Last year was a year of learning for me, and for that I’m so grateful because all that I learned has reshaped my aims and objectives to be better than I remember. Last year taught me that taking that action that has been lingering in your heart gives freedom, last year taught me that the true freedom is in being disciplined, and that having a genuine relationship with God is key to a beautiful life. What I love about the new year is the feeling of renewed hope that comes with the new year, a clean slate for a fresh start. While people might argue that it doesn’t take for a new year to have a fresh start, I like to believe that this breath of fresh air is somewhat universal and also gives a realistic gamecard to people’s goals.

Considering what my goals for this year are, I know for a fact that this year is going to be an audacious year for me. There is this sense of confidence even though some of these goals seem big to achieve but what makes the difference is the work I’ve been doing to make me a better person and to make my dreams come to life. I will continue to revolve a lot of how I like my life to be around my happiness and living purposely in God’s will.

I also have a new project that I’ll be sharing with you guys very soon. I’ve come to realize that what truly keeps me grounded is doing the things I love and sharing it with others, so I did some work I love and I’m so-so excited and can’t wait to share it with you guys… Today, I challenge you as I’ve challenged myself this year to think of a life beyond yours and work towards living that life.

Wishing you all the happiest of new year’s!

Lizzy
