Hi guys. Merry Christmas to you all, and I hope everyone’s having a joyous time with family and away from work.
This year has been a lovely, partly chaotic and transitional year for me, I have at every point stayed counting my blessings because being grateful is the only way to go in this space. I’m spending this festive season with a ton of people and family too. There have been a lot of outing, celebrations and impromptu cooking…and I stay grateful for all that also. Not having a personal camera has served as an hindrance in capturing these moments as well as I would have loved to….but we all know now that that’s not going to stop me from going about my business.
So I thought to have one more blog post up to end the year and I decided to share with you guys some of my favorite chefs, business owners, food content creators and podcasters who I‘ve enjoyed keeping up with all through the year. Considering that I’ve been timed-out on my cooking and filming game, I thought it’d be a great idea to share with you guys some chefs I think you can steal some recipes from for your Christmas cooking and meal co-ord, because I love a good dinning co-ordination, and I think you should too.
The first guys I’ve messed with for the longest are my favorite podcast girls, Malaika and Harleigh, the founders of SONDER AND SALT. They come together to talk about cooking methods, the magic of eating, drinks, ingredients, and controversial food ideas, from the simplest to the most epic food chats across different food cultures. I’ will describe them as a very educative and hilarious duo. Two of my favorite podcast drop was one where they spoke about the difference between Use by & Best before….the other is The holy trinity of food: Onions, Garlic & Chilli.

Second is “Beezus Kitchen”. Beezus Kitchen is a Lagos-based kitchen and catering company that centers on Pan-Asian cuisine. The Kitchen was founded by Chef Seyilogo who in the early years of her career travelled across different countries to learn about cooking in-order to elevate her passion for food. She’s also emerged as a finalist on The Kitchen Nigeria in 2021. Now her very own, Beezus Kitchen has become a hub for both new and frequent dinners to come together and eat good and have a good time (from individually cooking your meat in a modern Asian way to been served bottomless drinks, such as Soju).

I personally have never been to a Beezus kitchen dinning event, but word on the street is that the experience is nothing but good vibes and great food. So if you’re looking to spend an evening out after a long week of work, or looking to celebrate a special day, or even looking to connect with new people, I’d say Beezus Kitchen is the best place to be.
Third is “Jules Cooking”. I discovered Jules in my early cooking years when I started looking at cooking as a prim and proper way of expressing myself through food.

I will also say for free that the word that comes to mind at a glance of Jules cooking videos is Mastery, this is because Jules cooks with so much care and patience and we all can see that, I think it’s absolutely mastery because a kitchen can turn into a mad house in any minute, but having a total control of your process and making a great meal from same just feels like mastery to me. Jules teaches individuals who have a passion for cooking on how to create beautiful and delicious dishes, and also how stay professional in the kitchen.

Jules seemingly aims at making his food creations as modern as it can possibly be from his bright ceviche recipes to his silky soups. So if you’re looking to make every plate that comes out of your kitchen a delight to every eye, I’d say Jules Cooking is the one chef you can start/continue your learning process with.
Fourth is “Pilar Varela”. She is known for her creativity around beverages such as mocktails, coffee drinks, cocktails and juice. S

She shows a distinct skill in mixing and matching ingredients for the beverages she creates. So if you’re looking to make a great batch of cocktail or mocktail for your family during the festive period, Pilar is the right girl for you. She also has made it easy to grab recipes to her drinks, by listing them below most of her posts on Instagram to help guide you if you decide to make a drink.
…and lastly is “Terriann’s kitchen”. Terriann is a Caribbean chef who I think is such a great cook. Her recipes do not have any misses is what I would say.

She has been my go to for meals that feel specially homemade…from her variety of sauces to her several recipes for making the tastiest chicken. I have time without number found myself scouting her page whenever I need to make a great meal for my family and I think she will do any prospective Home Chef so much good. You can visit her page @terrianns_kitchen for cooking recipes that feel close to home.
And that guys, are just a few of my favorites! I intended to have this post up before Christmas at least to help guide the “at-home Christmas Eve Chefs” in the building, but for some reasons I wasn’t able to get it out because I needed to reach out to my online friends featured in today’s post. But no hassle, the festivities are still on and I’m sure there will be a lot of cooking and food talk into the the new year, so feel-free to grab a recipe or more, dine-in or engage with these guys if you need to. It was a learning process curating this post and I enjoyed writing this one!
On that note, Merry Christmas guys, do make sure to love up on your loved ones, have lots of fun. Thanks for keeping up with me one more time guys and I’ll see you guys in the new year.
